Concessions, theaters, sports venues, school and church groups, event caterers, and anybody running a hot air or oil machine for volume. Butterfly is the right corn wherever the product goes straight into a bag or a tub with butter and salt, because the winged shape is what makes seasoned popcorn taste seasoned - it gives the salt and butter somewhere to hold.

Where butterfly is the wrong corn is coating. If you are making caramel corn or kettle corn, run mushroom instead: butterfly arms shear off under a tumbler and a meaningful share of your product becomes crumb at the bottom of the bag.
