I bought this 50lb bag a long time ago and it has lasted us years! It took us a few tries to get the hang of popping it. We pop it in a deep pot with a vented lid to let steam escape as it pops. Turns out so crispy and has the best flavor of any popcorn I've ever had. I will buy this popcorn forever. Love it.
I am a popcorn fiend! So when I read about Farmer Bob’s mushroom shape corn, I ordered some. I used olive oil and a heavy bottomed pot, as usual. These kernels popped big round puffs, and the taste, golden color, and texture were superb! It was hard, but I even shared it. I show regular(white)popcorn next to your mushroom popcorn to show the color difference.
This Mushroom popcorn is far superior to any home popped corn I have ever used. It pops into beautiful ¾" round solid balls of delectable popcorn. I have been making homemade Cracker Jacks for over 50 years but these kernels have brought them to a whole new level of delicious! The entire ¾" kernel encased in the most delicate carmel candy shell is such a beautiful treat. Buying a 50 pound bag is not out of line, it's a lovely investment in Winter comfort food! Not only is the Popcorn superior, the people behind the corn are uncommonly kind and efficient, a true joy to do business with. I HIGHLY recommend this company and their wonderful popcorn!

I like the popcorn. It seems that once the kernel has popped open the hull stays in its full size and makes it unappealing to consume the popcorn. I find myself picking through the bowl and aiming for kernels of corn and picking off the hull. I guess that will keep me from over consumption!

I love your popcorn. I only wish there was a place to pick up 50lb bags of your corn. Shipping is a little expensive. I wouldn't mind the drive to Princeton to pick up a 50lb bag now and then.

I love the taste of this popcorn and most of the kernels pop up more than other brands. The mushroom shape seems to be a hit or miss though. Great product still and I will continue to buy.
Popcorn was a weekly staple growing up in my house. Sundays were popcorn night while watching The Wonderful World of Disney. Princeton popcorn is hands down the best popcorn I have ever had.

I had to do a review of site to see if I had ordered plain size popcorn or giant popcorn. I found it is one and the same. The round popcorn is nice but hardly giant. The hulls were listed as smaller which I didn't find true. I can see where other popcorn breaks more and the round stay whole.
I burnt my first batch as I didn't use nearly enough oil. I again did a review of the site and nothing in print. I finally watched the video and caught the 1-part oil to three parts popcorn. Gosh did this make a difference. I love the flavor! Love the quick shipping of my order and even though the box looked pretty beat and battered the 50Lb bag inside was intact and clean! Kudos! I hope improvements to popped size and smaller hulls is on your list of things to strive for. I would suggest the added instructions in print as to the amount of oil per batch also. All in all, I enjoy this popcorn and shared with my family. Thank you!
Light, fluffy, and huge. Excellent taste! We go through a lot of popcorn in our family. Worth every penny and reasonably priced at that!

Mine tasted good like regular popcorn but had expected it to look like the picture! I also bought the 50lb bag to use as Christmas gifts. Popped in microwave a little over 2 plus minutes. All popped and that was good . Looked like regular popcorn except for less than 5% looked like what you see in this picture. I do want to support Farmer Bob. Maybe I did something wrong or maybe he can enlighten me as to why so few looked like the above. I did get some nice jars to put it in even if the popcorn appearance does not meet expectation. I was able to post a picture of mine on my Walmart review of the same product

If you love popcorn you must try this. Ever since I was gifted a Whirley Pop years ago I have been trying different kinds of kernels to pop. Anytime I traveled I would try to find kernels to bring home and try. Princeton popcorn is hands down the best mushroom popcorn in all the land. Makes the best kettle corn bar none. I also use it to make a cracked peppered popcorn and is my go to for family movie night.
I initially bought a small tub of Princeton mushroom shaped unpopped popcorn from Amazon, along with another brand, to compare popping quality for making at-home kettle corn. Princeton's was by far the higher quality, and nearly all kernels popped uniformly. I quickly found Princeton's website, and upon comparing the 50lb bag price on their website (cost per ounce of $0.10) to the 2lb jug from Amazon (cost per ounce of $0.59), there was a $0.49/oz cost savings, plus free shipping. Since popcorn can last indefinitely as long as it is sealed properly for freshness, the 50lb bag is the most cost effective. (Note: We divided the kernels into Food Saver bags and sealed them with the Food Saver machine we have.) I highly recommend Princeton's popcorn.
Farmer Bob’s Mushroom popcorn is excellent. Big, round and tasty. And the 50lbs bag just the right size. I’ve perfected the mushroom popping technique using a Whirley Pop on the stove top. One full cup of corn (8oz), plus less than one blue scoop of sugar (3/4 oz) if we are in the kettle corn mood, yields the right amount of overflowing popcorn to feed the family. We go through a lot of popcorn. We pop about 5-6 days a week as a healthy, nutritious, inexpensive snack. Thanks Farmer Bob!

I pop for our staff on Fridays. This year, on recommendation from a concessioner that uses this corn for her kettle corn, I purchased for our staff. I pop so much more than I used to with the big box store butterfly kernals. Crispy and fluffy all at once,big hit, so glad I took her advice.
Normally when i get popcorn its just the normal random explosion pop (hard to explain but its not the round ones) when I read the description on this one it said it has mushroom popcorn so i figured I would try it. They were correct. this is like the popcorn that is used when they make caramel popcorn the perfect round popcorn i love it. Watch out though when they pop they pop with force. not a bad thing but man my machine bounces around. The one Con I would say is that the popcorn seems less crispy then I am used to but it still tastes great. I was happy with this buy.
Popcorn was as expected. But bag was left in rain. Not happy about that. Thankful bag had a plastic lining.
