Mushroom corn pops into a dense ball with no wings to break. It survives the mechanical abuse of a coating tumbler, a bagging line and a delivery truck, which is exactly why the commercial caramel and kettle corn trade runs on it. Handling a 50 lb sack

Store indoors on a pallet or shelf, never directly on concrete, away from exterior walls and out of sunlight. Keep the bag closed between uses. Popcorn is stable for years when the moisture inside the kernel stays where it belongs, but an open sack in a hot, dry kitchen will slowly dry down and your unpopped-kernel rate will climb.
