I bought this popcorn from an ad off of Instagram
Never realizing that this is usually the type of popcorn used for making delicious kettle corn
Now I’m hooked 10/10
My first order of popcorn encountered some shipping issues, causing delivery to be delayed for well over a week, while my popcorn traveled halfway around the country. When it finally arrived, the package was damaged, the container broken. Well, Farmer Bob stepped up and made me whole, which I appreciate very much. Although there was a problem, which arguably wasn't Farmer Bob's fault, he took care of it anyway, going above and beyond. That impresses me. The popcorn is very good indeed. For comparison, I popped two batches, one of the Prinston Mushroom popcorn, and the other a batch of a well-known brand of "grocery store " popcorn. Each batch used 3/4 cup of unpopped corn. The popped volume of the mushroom corn was slightly less than the yellow corn, but due to the larger kernel size, there are doubtless fewer kernels in a given volume of mushroom corn. Our family loved the texture of the larger popped kernels of mushroom corn as well as the flavor. There is a nice golden surface, just waiting for butter, salt, or whatever seasonings are desired. I suspect that we will mix both kinds of corn on future popcorn nights. The large popped kernels of mushroom corn would be superior for candy corn or other flavored popcorn. Bottom line, we're very happy with the popcorn and impressed that Farmer Bob took steps to correct a situation that, due to no fault of his own, had gone off of the rails a bit. Thanks, Farmer Bob!
We are BIG popcorn fans. This year I decided to make ginger bread popcorn to give as gifts . Sadly our usual store bought popcorn did hold up to the gingerbread treatment, and remained soggy and sticky. This giant mushroom popcorn did hold up however and fit the bill perfectly. As a daily eater or movie night popcorn, it’s not my favorite. We like warm corn, and this stuff actually gets better after it cools. It’s chewy and tough right out of the pot in my opinion. Cooled and eaten later, it’s just fine. Because of the cost and the fact we like hot popcorn , I’ve given it four stars. It was perfect for what I bought it for but not a regular snack for us
Compared to supermarket popcorn, this is much bigger and flavorful. Pops up pretty good.
This is the best popcorn I’ve ever popped. Hard to believe there are any low review. I use an air popper and it’s so good!
I must admit that I am disappointed. Maybe it does better in an air popper
Honestly, I was very disappointed in it both how it tasted and the kernels. I like the regular popcorn better to me taste better and not as many kernels s in your teeth and much less expensive
Good popcorn. Delivered as promised
Poor popping results, half managed to come to full size, the others, some to none being popped.
In addition, felt like chewing a bagel, corn rendering too thick unlike butterfly popping corn. No repeat purchase here.
What a great all in one package!
A friend of ours gave us a few bags to try and we all just loved it!! So easy to prepare and delicious!! Thanks for a great
snack!! JP & Allison Birmingham,Al
Took a couple of test runs, but once we got the correct oil to kernel ratio - truly yummy!
Absolutely delicious
What a treat! My husband and I are huge popcorn fans, so I read about this special popcorn, I knew I had to try it. It's amazing! The kernels are light and fluffy and the flavor is outstanding!
Love this popcorn!
great popcorn, USPS shipping is slow though
My sister bought a tub of your popcorn for me for Christmas and she told me of your request for a review, so I am writing this note to fulfill that request.
My wife and I popped two batches of your popcorn yesterday evening. We usually use popcorn from Gordon Food Service and we use a Wear-ever Popcorn Pumper air popper to avoid using oil. We usually get very few kernels that don’t pop and rarely have any that burn. We have tried several brands of air poppers, but always return to the Popcorn Pumper. In fact, this is our second one because the first one burned out about a year ago.
Before popping your kernels, I read the instructions on your website and, as I usually do, I ran the air popper for a few minutes, added a few kernels, and let the machine run until they popped. I let the machine run another minute or so and then added the normal measure of kernels.
Following are our observations:
Popped kernels did not come out of the popper easily
As the kernels popped, they did not come up and out of the popper like the normal kernels do, so I had to raise the popper and tilt it to encourage the popped kernels to exit. I was not quick enough doing that on the first batch and a couple of the last kernels burned before they came out. I was quicker to tilt the popper on the second batch and none of the popped kernels burned before they exited into the bowl. I suspect the popped kernels are heavier than our usual popped kernels and that is why they didn’t come out of the popper as well as they should have.
Some kernels did not pop
There were about 20 or 30 kernels that barely opened and they were burned and pretty dark. Some may have been left from the first batch because I didn’t verify that the popper was empty before adding the kernels for the second batch.
Lower overall volume
When each batch of popcorn was through popping, we were surprised to find that the bowl was not as full as it is with our regular popcorn. I suspect there are two reasons for that. First, even though the popped kernels seem slightly larger than our normal popped kernels, they pack better, so they take less room in the bowl. Second, the unpopped kernels are slightly larger than our usual kernels, so a scoop of each would have fewer of the new kernels than the usual ones.
Taste was the same
We did not notice any difference in taste from our usual popcorn.
Texture was different
The popped kernels were not as light and fluffy as our usual kernels and that was noticeable as we ate them. The outside of the kernel is a bit rougher in the mouth than our usual kernels. In addition, it seemed like the husks were tougher than the husks from our usual kernels.
Overall impression
We enjoyed sampling the new kernels for a change from the norm, but long term we will stick with our usual popcorn.
I didn’t like the texture of the kernels. It popped well.
Great popcorn, the mushroom shape is cool and leaves little cornells.
Popped up tough. I would not buy again
Usually good but this last batch popped hard and chewy.
It is the best tasting popcorn around.
Biggest and best popcorn! I love knowing exactly where it came from!
When I use my microwave Popcorn bowl, there are many kernels left, and a lot of popcorn left unpopped. I am not happy at all with this. I was looking forward to a much better experience all the way around. Very disappointed to say the least.
Nothing like fresh popped popcorn!
Looking good! Thank you for your purchase. Enjoy.
Princeton Popcorn is the only popcorn we will eat! Not only does it pop fully, the taste is exceptional. Why even consider any other popcorn when Princeton Popcorn checks all boxes. Great…. NO Amazing. Thanks Princeton Popcorn for the enjoyment we again get from eating popcorn.
Way overpriced and not mushroom shaped at all. I would not buy again.
the best
I was excited to try this, but was unhappy with how many large husks were in the final result. It made it tough to eat, and the popcorn itself was tougher than I expected.
