Three 2 lb bags of large yellow popcorn kernels - six pounds, roughly forty-eight stovetop batches, at our best per-pound price on this variety outside of bulk.

The high-volume eating corn, bought sensibly

Large yellow is the variety that fills a bowl fastest. The kernel is bigger than our baby white, so it expands into a bigger, fluffier, golden piece and you get more popped volume from the same quarter-cup scoop. That makes it the practical choice when you are feeding a group rather than a person - and six pounds is group quantity.

Three sealed bags instead of one bulk bag is the point. Popcorn pops on the water sealed inside each kernel, and an opened bag slowly gives that up to the room. Two bags stay factory-sealed while you work through the first, so the last batch pops as well as the first.

  • Family movie nights on repeat.
  • Classrooms, scout troops, church groups, team snacks.
  • Parties and game days where volume matters more than delicacy.
  • Splitting with neighbors or family - hand over a sealed bag.

Pick your butterfly

Yellow for volume, color and a heartier bite. Baby white for a smaller, more tender piece with less noticeable hull. Both are butterfly corn, so both are for eating buttered and salted - reach for mushroom kernels when you are making caramel corn or kettle corn.

Storage

Keep unopened bags cool, dry, dark and off cold floors. Once open, roll tight or decant into an airtight container. Do not refrigerate.

One farmer, one field. Grown, bagged and shipped by Farmer Bob in Princeton, Kansas.

2lb Tub Yellow Mushroom Popcorn Kernels

"Poor popping results, half managed to come to full size, the others, some to none being popped. In addition, felt like chewing a bagel, corn rendering too thick unlike butterfly popping corn. No repeat purchase here."
